Where's Your Head(line) At?
Knowing how your mind works can be an important tool
for success. Whether you are a completely
disorganized dreamer or a compulsively organized
logic jedi there are clues in your hands that will
help you find balance.
Locating Your Head Line:
·
Relax your left hand on a flat surface.
·
Between your thumb and pointer finger, your Headline
starts and moves out into the center of your palm
·
Now
locate your Headline on your right hand (it's a
mirror image)*
*Your left hand indicates the tools you were born
with and the right hand is what you have made of
them (doesn't matter if you are right handed, left
handed, or ambidextrous). The left hand will reflect
how a person feels inside, while the right hand
shows how we appear to the rest of the world.
Sometimes the lines are exact mirror images of each
other, sometimes opposing hands will tell very
different stories depending on how a person has
risen to meet life's challenges. The lines will be
in the same place even though they can take very
different shapes.

General Aspects:
While your hand is relaxed, note the depth or
shallowness of the Headline as compared to the other
lines in your hand. How prominent the line is will
give you an idea of whether there is balance between
your head and other parts of yourself.
Are
you a deep thinker? The line will be deep.
Is
it easy for you to accept things without pondering
why all the time? Then your line will not be
significantly deep.
Is
your Headline deeper at the beginning or end? This
is a reflection of the thought process shows a
pattern of profound contemplation coupled with
acceptance. Some people think deep thoughts at the
beginning of an idea, others wait until the end of
the process.
At The Root of Your Thinking
Look closely at the beginning of your Headline (near
side of palm between thumb and pointer finger).
Does your thumb seem to push up against the base of
your Headline? The more so, the more hard headed you
are.
If
your thumb pulls back away from the line, you might
be a push over.
Your Headline may appear to be attached to your
Lifeline (which arches back toward your thumb in a
semi-circle) and could look like it emerges as a
branch of your Lifeline.
If
it is attached, you have a distinct recollection of
your childhood years. This is more rare than I ever
imagined and the attachment diminishes with age.
If
it is seperate, you are more disconnected from these
memories depending on the space between. Lines
connecting your Lifeline to the root of your
Headline indicate distinct memories that are
conscious.
Some people say that the space between the root of
your Headline and your Lifeline indicates how lucky
a person is (more space, more luck). I think there
are much stronger indications of luck elsewhere in
the hand.
How long is your Headline?
The
further the line travels across your palm, the
longer you keep things rolling around in your head.
Uber-long lines extending all the way across
indicate you think about everything waaaaaay too
long. Quite often there will be a very long left
hand Headline, but the person has learned to make
real world conclusions more quickly resulting in a
shorter right hand Headline. You can be sure this
person thinks about things long after other people
think they are done.
If
the line stops just past your middle finger, the
world revolves around you to the point of not always
being practical. (See Paris Hilton pic to the right)
While there are careers that demand quick,
self-preserving, no questions asked decisions to be
made (trapeze artist comes to mind) you would be
better off thinking more of others.
Headlines that stop abruptly under the ring finger
indicate an obsession with your career.
Most Headlines wander across the palm to some point
under the pinky. This indicates a healthy balance
considering the self, the career, others, and a
spiritual peace in a person's though process.
The Shape of Your Thoughts
The
straighter your Headline is as it moves across your
palm, the more linear and logical your thought
process is. Words to describe this type of brain
would include: pragmatic, logical, down to earth. My
favorite mechanic has a solid straight line across
both his hands. There is no need for imagination
getting in the way when fixing an engine. Good thing
he has such a strong and happy Heartline to balance
out his extremely practical Headline ;)
A
line that curves more toward the heel of the palm
signifies an imaginary dreamer. Hopefully that curve
is supported by some straightforward logic at the
root of the Headline resulting in a
pragmatic-visionary. Active community leaders,
teachers, and successful artists tend to have this
blending of logic and vision.
When the curve is dramatic it can indicate the dark
side of being a dreamer. There is the potential for
a complete lack of practical thought (like planning
a budget) and the possibility of paranoia or
delusions if left untended. This is a person who
would benefit from finding a way to be more
organized so they don't get lost in daydreaming
their lives away.
Head Traumas and Healing
Most Headlines have at least a few stray lines, an X
or two, and other signs of "head" events. Here are a
few things you might notice:
·
Xs:
indicate a trauma, either physical of emotional. If
the X has formed a square, the trauma is healed.
·
Lines branching toward the Heartline: indicates your
head reaching out to understand your Heart's
desires.
·
Blue skin tone under the line: temporary grief or
pain from a trauma. This will pass with time.
·
Squares: surrounding the line indicate a safety net
that has been put in place to keep your head
straight.
